A.M. Vera+Cruz
Its beginnings
Vera+Cruz de Campillos is a marching band that has belonged, since its beginnings in 1981, to the Real y Venerable Hermandad Sacramental Franciscana del Stmo. Cristo de la Vera+Cruz y María Santísima de los Dolores. Its members are currently trained and directed by Alejandro Royán Ruiz and Daniel Mañas Cuadras.
Its music and history
The extensive repertoire of Vera+Cruz de Campillos includes its own marches, liturgical chants, and classic and modern marches by other bands.
It has released several recordings: one recorded live in Campillos during the special procession of María Santísima de los Dolores for her 50th anniversary, released in 2007 under the title “Amor Doloroso”, and another recorded in 2011 entitled “Vera Cruz”, made up of its own processional marches.
Also of note is the recording in March 2015, at the Romero Music Spain studios, of its own march “Rocío… Reina y Señora”, on the occasion of the Canonical Coronation of the Virgen del Rocío, “Novia de Málaga”. In 2017 it presented the album entitled “De una ilusión, una realidad” to commemorate the band’s 35th anniversary.
More recently, in December 2023, its latest work, “La Vera Cruz de Campillos”, was released on digital platforms, bringing together the band’s own and most emblematic marches.
